Shooting Tuition
The most important aspect of shooting is safety. We strongly recommend that if you are inexperienced then have a lesson with us, or have an instructor join you on a days shooting.
All of our instructors are experienced game/clay shots, so can ably assist any level of client, from the novice who needs to learn all aspects of the day from what to wear, and the etiquette of the day, to how much to tip the keeper, to the experienced gun who needs help on that high bird.
Our instructors will be available for all of the clients needs, gun hire is available and we will ensure the gun fit is correct, and we carry different type of shotgun to suit the situation and client, all of our instructors are experienced in Double Gunning.
We will ensure our client, and the whole team of guns behave safely and in accordance with all of the shoot rules, as well as helping them enjoy there day to the full.
Instructors vehicles are available for use on the day by arrangement, as well as any of the teams needs such as cartridges, or clothing, can be arrange with prior notice.
Peter Hunt
Sporting and Conyers offer professional shooting instruction in the heart of the Blackmoor vale. For all your clay and game shooting requirements, one-to-one tuition, group or corporate parties.
Peter Hunt has been an instructor for 25+ yrs teaching clay pigeon shooting and game shooting from his farm in North Dorset , Peter has considerable experience in all methods of shooting.
Justin Frampton
Justin Frampton from Conyers has been instructing since 1995, after clay pigeon shooting to a high level, and game shooting all over the country he has a wide variety of experiences to choose from.
In the field mentoring and loading, we can cater for the individual or for a whole team of guns, with one or more instructors who are all highly qualified and members of the Guild of Shooting Instructors.
Our Clients
We currently have clients who shoot all over the country ranging from single children to teams of ladies. We can cover any part of the country or abroad, hire of 4x4 vehicles to accompany clients are available.
Gun fitting and adjustments can be arranged at home or in Conyers or on the clay shooting ground. Game/simulated days can be arranged.
All our shooting instructors are Members of The Guild of Shooting Instructors, and are all covered by there comprehensive insurance.

Shooting ground information

As well as On the Peg Tuition, Conyers and Peter Hunt Sporting, run there own shooting ground in the heart of the Blackmore Vale near Sturminster Newton, in North Dorset.
At the ground we have nine automatic traps and a high tower for tuition, before the lesson starts we can move and set up any scenario, if its a bogey competition bird or a particular game shooting scenario we can simulate, and correct the client.
It is very secluded and picturesque and on most occasions there will only be the instructor and client on the ground so ensuring a personal touch.
We are open throughout the year and conduct lessons for individuals and small groups, gun hire is available, and is included in the cost of the lesson as are cartridges, of which we mainly use low recoil ones.
We have a large client base, which includes children of all ages and ladies.
The ground is only available to clients, individual or small groups for the purpose of shooting instruction, we are not open to the public for practice.
